Fluidized bed packing, also known as MBBR packing, is a new type of bioactive carrier. It adopts scientific formula, according to different water quality requirements, integrates different kinds of Microelements in polymer materials, which are conducive to the rapid growth of microorganisms. After special process modification and construction, it has the advantages of large specific surface area, good hydrophilicity, good fluidity, high biological activity, easy to hang membrane, good treatment effect, long service life and so on.
Principle of action of fluidized bed packing when sewage passes through the fluidized bed packing reactor, microorganisms in the water continuously adhere to and grow on the inner and outer surfaces of the fluidized bed packing to form a biofilm. The fluid bed packing rotates freely under the agitation of the mixed liquid in the reactor. The biofilm fully contacts and decomposes the pollutants in the water body, so that the water quality can be purified. The turnover of mixed liquid and the movement of carrier are realized by aerobic aeration or anaerobic agitation.

Application characteristics
Due to the unique sludge membrane symbiosis system of MBBR Process, it can well combine the activated sludge process with the biofilm process, which has the remarkable advantages of the sludge membrane symbiosis technology, and ingeniously combine the activated sludge process with the biofilm process.
The main purpose of the system is to enhance the removal of organics and ammonia nitrogen in the aerobic section by using the characteristics of good low temperature resistance of biofilm method, so that their removal rate is higher than the corresponding removal rate of mixed liquid alone.
There are nitrifying bacteria in the biofilm produced in MBBR suspension packing, and the peeling off of biofilm will inoculate the mixed liquor. Compared with the single activated sludge method under the same average cell residence time of mixed liquor suspension, the peeling off and inoculation of biofilm will significantly increase the proportion of nitrifying bacteria in the mixed liquor, so the existence of biofilm carrier will help to increase the nitrification rate per unit tank volume To enhance the nitrification capacity of the secondary treatment process, so as to further improve the removal efficiency of ammonia nitrogen. Its main application features are as follows:
1. It is suitable for the cold area with very low water inlet temperature
In Inner Mongolia and Northeast China, winter cold season usually lasts for half a year. Under the condition of continuous low temperature, the growth of activated sludge and its ability to degrade pollutants will be greatly affected. However, the MBBR Process system has a biofilm system that the ordinary activated sludge process does not have, and it has a better ability to resist low temperature. For example, when the sewage inlet temperature in Chifeng County of Inner Mongolia is the lowest, it reaches 4 ℃. After continuous monitoring of the effluent water quality index for one month, it is found that the pollutant index can still meet the national discharge standard.
2. Applicable to reconstruction and expansion projects
Since the MBBR Process adds suspended packing to the biochemical tank, the activated sludge flora of the suspended packing in the biochemical tank can grow without affecting the flora of the original biochemical tank, so that the treatment water volume can be increased without moving the civil works, greatly reducing the workload of the expansion project, and reducing the construction land. But MBBR technology brings great convenience, but also pay attention to design problems.
The proportion of adding suspended filler in the original biochemical tank should be moderate. Excessive adding of suspended filler will cause difficulty in fluidization of the filler. According to the actual engineering experience, the maximum proportion of adding suspended filler is 60% of the tank capacity in the aerobic area. Generally, there is margin in the design, and the proportion will not exceed 50%. Otherwise, the difficulty in fluidization of the filler will lead to packing accumulation, blocking the screen, overflow of biochemical tank, etc serious problem
3. It is necessary to design the flow area and aeration system of the screen reasonably
Because the general MBBR Process suspended packing is a round porous packing with the size of 25 mm, the suspended packing is in the flow circulation state in the aerobic area. In order to avoid the loss of the packing caused by the suspended packing entering the next structure with the water flow, the intercepting screen should be set in the MBBR Process suspended packing area to intercept the suspended packing.
In the design, it should be considered to intercept the packing and ensure the over flow of the mesh. If the over flow is insufficient or the design of the bottom aeration system is unreasonable, it will lead to the accumulation of the suspended packing at the mesh, which will have a negative impact on the over flow. In serious cases, all the suspended packing will be silted up at the mesh, resulting in that the water in the biochemical tank cannot enter the next unit, which will eventually lead to the phenomenon of overflow It happened
